Collection: Large Coving

We group our plaster cornice into three different sizes: large cornice, medium cornice, and small cornice, to give customers a guide as to what size of cornice is suitable for different rooms with different ceiling heights.

There are no hard and fast rules, as some people prefer to have their cornice more prominent than others. In many older properties, ceiling heights have been lowered. This means a smaller cornice than the one that might originally have been used has to be fitted, as there is now insufficient room between the window architraves and the new ceiling height for a larger cornice.

As a guide, anything in our large cornice section is suitable for properties of all ages, with ceiling heights above those of today's average.

And for the principal rooms of older properties, such as Victorian and Edwardian houses, where the ceiling heights were higher than the other rooms in the house switch as bedrooms.

More about our Large Plaster Coving range

Some of our large plaster cornices are firmly associated with particular periods, such as LPC075, a large stepped Art Deco cornice.

Whilst others, such as LPC015 or LPC050, are stylish, plain run cornices, which will not look out of place in any property built in the last 200 years.

If you have a Victorian or Edwardian property, our large swan neck cornices are absolutely typical of the period and extremely popular with customers restoring the original period features of their houses.

If you're also looking for a plaster ceiling rose, our range of large plaster ceiling roses have the right proportions for the size of room in which the cornices in this category will look their best.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can I have delivery?

We use our own vans and drivers to deliver coving. Our products are fragile and need to be handled carefully. Using our own transport ensures your coving arrives in good condition and customers are kept up to date with progress on the day of delivery. We deliver to the vast majority of the UK within five working days, often sooner. If you live in an isolated area, deliveries will be less frequent than somewhere like the centre of London, where we have multiple vans every day. If you have an urgent delivery requirement, please call our customer services team on 0333 043 1471, who will be able to tell you our latest delivery schedules. Alternatively, you can check our nationwide UK coving delivery index for typical delivery times to your area.

How is your coving priced?

The price quoted is per metre and includes VAT. Please note the price is not per length: just enter the number of metres you need and we will work it out to the nearest length.

Can you recommend a fitter?

Yes, we have good links with professional cornice fitters throughout the country and are able to recommend tradesmen in most areas. Please call 0333 043 1471 for details.

Do you sell matching ceiling roses?

Yes, we have a range of Victorian plaster ceiling roses from the plain to the highly ornate. We also have a range of original Victorian timber skirting boards and architraves, which are increasingly difficult to find these days.
