Until the arrival of the railway in 1873, Urmston was a small farming community, but soon transformed into a desirable area for the growing middle classes in the late Victorian period.
There are as a result many quality Victorian, and later, properties to be found in Urmston and we have worked on many to restore and replace the original plaster coving and ceiling roses.
Here we are fitting the classic Victorian swan neck coving LPC030 into the lounge of a house as the first step of a total restoration of the plaster cornice throughout the property.
Swan neck coving is probably the most recognisable styles of the victorian plaster cornice, with its elegant profile especially suited for the external corners with in the room.
